Gun Guesser ("we", "us", "the site") is a browser-based game available at gunguesser.com. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

Information We Collect

Player name: When you play, you enter a display name. This is stored in your browser's local storage and on our servers for leaderboard purposes. No email, phone number, or real identity is required for guest play.

Optional Google sign-in: If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account ID, email address, verification status, display name, profile picture, and locale so we can create your account and keep you signed in.

Optional PIN: You may set a 4-digit PIN to save your progress. PINs are hashed before storage and cannot be recovered.

Game data: Scores, round results, and leaderboard entries are stored on our servers to power leaderboards and shared score cards.

Analytics: We use Vercel Analytics to collect anonymous usage data (page views, performance metrics). We also collect aggregate first-party counts for site features, such as Supporter page views and checkout button clicks. No personally identifiable information is collected through analytics.

Cookies and Local Storage

Gun Guesser uses browser local storage to remember your player name, PIN, daily challenge completion status, and streak. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to third parties.

If you sign in, we set a secure session cookie so your browser can stay authenticated.

Third-party services (Google AdSense, Vercel Analytics) may set cookies on your device if you accept optional cookies. These cookies are used for ad personalization, frequency capping, fraud prevention, ad measurement, and analytics purposes.

Third-Party Advertising

We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google may use cookies and web beacons to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to gunguesser.com and/or other sites on the Internet.

You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Alternatively, you may opt out of third-party vendor cookies by visiting aboutads.info.

Data Retention

Leaderboard scores: Global scores are retained indefinitely (top 200). Daily scores are automatically deleted after 7 days.

Shared score cards: Automatically deleted after 30 days.

Accounts (name + PIN): Accounts without a PIN are automatically deleted after 90 days of inactivity. Accounts with a PIN are retained until manually deleted.

Children's Privacy

Gun Guesser is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "last updated" date.
